Shooting Qualification

Shooting Qualification

Shooting qualification requirements are left up to the discretion of the instructor.  The student must be able to prove to the instructor that they can safely handle and discharge a firearm.  Our courses provide the necessary instruction for the students to achieve qualification.  Unlike courses taught elsewhere by other instructors, we do not score the target  at a specific yard.  You, the student, will be up close and personal with your target just like you would be if you were in a deadly situation where you have to defend yourself against a violent attack.  If you shoot someone in a self defense situation and they are more than 10 yards away, the bad guy better be killing someone or you better be taking on gun fire yourself or you will be in the wrong and potentially charged with crime.  With that said, we feel there is no need for long range target scoring.  You will be asked to safely load and shoot a firearm safely, and then repeat the process.  As long as you know how to do this and do so safely, you will be all set to obtain your permit to carry certificate.

We recognize that many students may not have a firearm at the time of their course or training program.  If you do not own or have access to a handgun, we will provide one for you complete with ammunition for a nominal fee of only $5.00.
